IS YOUR CHILD HAVING TROUBLE MAKING FRIENDS?

Karen Savlov, PsyD, MFT, brings this innovative program to Well Baby Center this summer

PEEEP! PEEEPParent Empowerment Early Education Program

PEEEP is a social skills summer camp for children 2 years-9 months up to age 6 years and includes a parent training and education component. This program is offered on a sliding fee scale -- no one is turned away for lack of funds. This unique 4 or 8 week program will engage in weekly creative themes to enhance and expand your child's social skills -- which will be then reinforced at home. These skills will help the child learn: cooperative play strategies, the skill of following instructions, experimenting with new social skills in a safe environment, expanded frustration tolerance. The parent(s) will learn: increased parental reflective function and competence in limit-setting and effective communication, greater efficacy in managing problem behaviors, and effective ways of intervening in difficult social situations between their child and his or her peers.

Parents will be asked to attend at least one of the three camp days in order to engage in the camp experience with his/her child, and to participate in the parent training and education component with the other parents. Both parents are invited to attend this parenting class component. Parents will be empowered to guide their children toward utilizing individual strategies for social and school success.

There will be a child and family therapist as well as an early childhood educator on hand every camp day for this exciting small group experience! Places are limited to six children, so enroll today!

Enrollment is underway for the summer!  Please call Karen Savlov at 310.402.2229 ext  8 to talk about the program details and to set up an initial interview where you can ask questions, visit the Center, and register.

If you are scheduled for an interview with Karen, please Click Here to download the form that should be completed and returned to Karen two days prior to your meeting.  Send it to WBC at 12316 Venice Blvd, Mar Vista CA 90066 (or drop it off at our center which is just East of Centinela on Venice Blvd) so that Karen can be best prepared when she meets with you.
