Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin (the loose tissue) covering the glans rounded tip of the penis. Circumcision may be performed for religious, cultural, or health reasons by a medical doctor or licensed moyle. The American Academy of Pediatrics recognizes some medical benefits of circumcision, however, it states that there is not sufficient evidence to recommend that all infant boys be circumcised.
Whether to circumcise an infant can be a difficult decision for new parents to make. Since many American men are circumcised, this choice can raise many issues for both the parents and their children. Whatever decision you make, children can be acutely aware of bodily differences, so parents are encouraged to talk about it with their children if and when the issue arises.
