Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist (OT)

A Pediatric Occupational Therapist is a professional who has specialized training in working with young children to improve the fine motor and visual/perceptual skills needed for daily tasks of living such as eating with utensils, dressing and washing. They also help to develop hand-eye coordination and sensory integration. In a developmental assessment, the OT would assess the child’s abilities as well as how the child is able to see, hear, feel, taste, and smell—and how all of the senses work together for the child to be able to navigate his or her environment successfully.
