Co-Sleeping is the practice of having your infant sleep in bed with you during the night. It is thought to promote breastfeeding and parent-child bonding and attachment by “attachment parenting” proponents. When making a decision about co-sleeping, you and your partner should ask yourselves whether it is right for your family: Will you be able to sleep with a child in your bed? Is the child sleeping well with you? How does co-sleeping impact your relationship with your partner? You and your partner should discuss ahead of time how long you expect the child to sleep with you and make sure you understand each other’s expectations.
Remember that co-sleeping is not safe when a parent is intoxicated.
